Tour 2: The library building in Fiolstræde

ONLY FOR THE DIAMOND CLUB - Take part in the tour and experience the historically unique and architecturally beautiful library building in Fiolstræde and the university's old buildings.

There was such a great demand that the Diamond Club is arranging two new tours.

Experience the historically unique and architecturally beautiful library building in Fiolstræde, which was inaugurated in 1861, and at the same time gain an insight into the history of the University of Copenhagen. The ambition is for the University Library in Fiolstræde to develop into an interdisciplinary physical framework for the University of Copenhagen's meeting with the outside world. A meeting place that conveys research, history and knowledge in an innovative way, provides inspiration and appeals to debate.

The tour lasts approximately 50 minutes. In addition to showing the library building, part of the tour takes place outside. You get to take a walk around the local area and see some of the university's old buildings from the outside and, additionally, you are allowed to go down into the university's old prison cellar, where you can see the scratched-in names of untidy students dating back to the last half of the 17th century.

There is free entry for members of the Diamond Club. However, you must either write to the Diamant Club email, call or pick up a ticket in The Diamond's shop.
