With a background spanning both research and industry, Dr. Chowdhury has had a huge impact on how we think about and develop AI. She was previously the Director of Twitter’s META (ML Ethics, Transparency, and Accountability) team, where she led efforts to identify and address problematic biases in algorithmic systems.
As founder of the organisation Parity, she has been behind tools to reduce bias in AI, including in her work as Responsible AI Lead at Accenture, where she was responsible for the design of their Fairness Tool, a groundbreaking algorithmic tool in the industry that can identify and remedy bias in AI systems.
