Skt. Hans Concert: Stegreif Orchestra

The Stegreif Orchestra mixes Beethoven's 9th Symphony with colourful folk music. Before the concert, we offer a three-course Skt. Hans dinner.

Folk musical traditions meet Beethoven's 9th Symphony

Experience a completely different concert. Without sheet music, without a conductor and without fixed positions on stage, the international Stegreif Orchestra combines European folk music with elements from Beethoven's 9th symphony - the symphony of which the European anthem is a part. The starting point is folk music from the musicians' home countries. With their musical fusion cuisine, the Stegreif Orchestra has taken up the challenge of making classical music more accessible to the public.

Enjoy a three course summer menu before the concert

Start your Skt. Hans Evening in the Diamond with a dinner in the Salon:

  • Bubbles & snacks
  • Green & white asparagus, fennel crudité, egg, mustard pickle and roe
  • Chicken danois with rhubarb compote, cucumber, new potatoes with lovage and siphon on chicken blanquette sauce
  • Airy cream on lemon, meringue with licorice and wild flowers.

The event is organised so that after the concert you can experience the Skt. Hans bonfire on the harbour in the area around the Diamond.

For example, you can see bonfires at Kayak Bar, Ofelia Plads or at Islands Brygge - all within a radius of approximately 1 km from The Black Diamond.

Part of the Danish-German Cultural Friendship Year

The concert is part of the Danish-German Cultural Friendship Year. Based on the deep historical ties between Denmark and Germany, the year of cultural friendship will further develop and intensify the good cooperation between our two countries and set an international example for peaceful and forward-looking coexistence in the 21st century.
