Pre-talk about Margaret Atwood with Sigrid Adamsson
FOR SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ONLY – Get up close and personal with Margaret Atwood's writing as Sigrid Adamsson unfolds the versatile and fascinating authorship.
Sigrid Adamsson is a culture writer and book reviewer for Politiken. She has previously worked as a literary translator, publishing editor and literary editor at a small magazine. For this pre-talk, she will take us into Margaret Atwood's writing before the author herself takes the stage in the Queen's Hall at 7 p.m. for the sold-out event.
Margaret Atwood's writing spans over 60 years and is unusually versatile and growing wildly. In other words, it can easily be difficult to know where to look to find the most important aspects of her work.
Sigrid will try to do the authorship justice by taking a focused and open look at it. Starting from a few excerpts from the debut novel The Edible Woman over the classic The Handmaid's Tale to the most recently published collection of short stories My Evil Mother, she will, in a very 'Atwoodian' style, both look at which themes and techniques recur, such as her ability to see into in the future without letting go of the present, and on her distinctive and present literary voice.
This is a pre-talk to Margaret Atwood's visit to the Queen's Hall that evening. The event is sold out.
