Malika Tirolien & Caulder Nash's GEMINICRAB (GP/CAN)
Copenhagen Jazz Festival: The ultra-cool R'n'B and soul duo from Montreal takes over the Queen's Hall.
Montreal's creative soul queen, Grammy-nominated singer Malika Tirolien, with roots in Guadeloupe, has captivated audiences with her voice and passion for over a decade, including together with the award-winning jazz collective Snarky Puppy. In addition to several musical collaborations, she has both fronted the transcultural music project Bokanté and nurtured her brilliant solo career.
In the project GEMINICRAB she has teamed up with keyboardist and producer Caulder Nash, and their name is a contraction of their two zodiac signs (gemini: twin and crab/cancer: the crab). The duo released the album Gen Y Lens in November 2024, which combines R'n'B, jazz, hip-hop and soul with lyrics about love, adulthood and the realities of life seen through a "Generation Y" lens.
This evening you can experience Tirolien and Nash as a quartet with back-up musicians on drums and bass.
