NOTE: Since the event this time takes place in our historic Old Reading Room in The Black Diamond, there is limited space. So come early if you want to be sure to get in. Entrance via The Black Diamond or via the Library Garden.

For this special edition of LIVE in the Library Garden, we have moved into the Royal Danish Library's Old Reading Room from 1906, which, with its green reading lamps, impressive columns and chandeliers in the ceiling, has a historical weight that can allow very special, intimate experiences. You will be able to experience musical sensitivity and presence from Dusin, Signe Wenneberg with a polemical and relevant speech, actress Marie Mondrup, who will interpret Per Højholdt's Gittes Monologer, and finally the premiere of a brand new lyrical work by poet Eva Tind.

At the library's late summer stage, LIVE in the Library Garden, we will unfold this year's theme: Landscapes with music, performance, poetry and polemical speeches. Once again this year, the Royal Danish Library has taken the initiative to have new Danish poetry written as a response to our reality here and now.

Please note that there is limited space.

The bar is open and we are serving up a treat of irresistible, thought-provoking performances.

Participants

Eva Tind

Eva Tind is a writer, visual artist and filmmaker. In her works of fiction, she examines identity formation and principles of chance in an attempt to break down taboos about race, gender and origin. She made her debut at Gyldendal with the poetry collection do in 2009 and received Klaus Rifbjerg's debutante prize from the Danish Academy.

Dusin

Musically, it is all framed by the forward-moving act, Dusin. Jesper Norhstedt Boesgaard, who is accompanied on this occasion by Mads Vadsager. Dusin tries to challenge the usual pop standards in Danish music through a mixture of pop, electropop and rock. This could most recently be heard on Dusin's album INTERMEZZO from 2022.

Marie Mondrup

Marie Mondrup graduated from the acting school at Odense Theatre in 2008 and four years before from the Danish Musical Academy. In a review of Oh happy day, Marie Mondrup's performance was highlighted as something very special: "A sincere folkliness and warmth, but also a vulnerability and a sadness that is far from her big smile. And then she can sing: organic, powerful and bubbling with joy.” She has also appeared in various films and TV series as well as played many different theatre roles. Marie Mondrup can be experienced this autumn in the performance Karen's chest of drawers at the Odense Theatre.

Signe Wenneberg

Signe Wenneberg is a climate activist, lecturer, journalist and gin producer as well as board member and former member of the Ethics Council. Signe Wenneberg trained as a rhetorician from the University of Copenhagen and is a long-standing cultural journalist on newspapers, magazines, blog, TV and most recently podcast. She publishes daily on Instagram and her blog, where it is mainly about sustainability and everyday activism. She is the author of 18 specialist books - on, among other things, gardening, climate, construction, sustainability, food, chickens and green everyday tips.

The event is part of the Golden Days Festival 2023
