Jacob Anderskov steals back the songbook!
Folk high school songs like you have never heard them before - and you can sing along!
Community singing is everywhere. And pianist Jacob Anderskov has performed a series of concerts with group singing in recent years.
On this evening, Anderskov hosts the Queen's Hall with a specially composed ensemble of musicians with experience in new music, improvisation, modern jazz and indie. In addition to Anderskov himself on the grand piano, a number of musicians will lead the way in the songs: Soffie Viemose from the band Lowly, singer and tubaist Jakob Munck, trumpeter Kasper Tranberg and drum wizard Jakob Høyer.
The ensemble exposes a folk high school songbook repertoire to theft, and performs well-known Danish community sing-along songs as you have never heard them before - it is like a storming of tradition, and at selected times during the concert, there will be audience participation in the form of collective singing.
It is not known which songs will be selected for sing-alongs, but the band's repertoire includes, among other things, such famous Danish songs as Jeg ved en lærkerede, Du danske sommer and Se nu stiger solen. It is all tied together by the band's seasoned improvisers.
