International Authors' Stage: Paul Polman

Experience the former CEO of Unilever Paul Polman, who has become synonymous with the movement to create successful companies that take responsibility for the climate crisis and global inequality.

“Is the world a better place because your company is in it?” This is what the business leader and former CEO of Unilever asks in his book Net Positive: How Courageous Companies Thrive by Giving More Than They Take. In recent years, the book has made him synonymous with a global movement to create successful companies that take responsibility for the climate crisis and the growing global inequality.

As CEO of Unilever, Polman set the goal for the company that its growth must not come at the expense of its environmental impact. In 2019, Polman created the organisation Imagine together with Jeff Seabright and Kees Kruythoff with the ambitious aim of working towards "abolishing poverty and inequality and preventing the climate crisis".
