Concerto Copenhagen: Bach's violin concertos

Experience Concerto Copenhagen playing some of the great hits of the Baroque.

Programme

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750):

Orchestral Suite No. 3 BWV 1068

The violin concertos in E major BWV 1042 and A minor BWV 1041

Concerto for violin and oboe BWV 1060R

Concerto for two violins in D minor BWV 1043

With the violinist Fredrik From at the centre, the orchestra Concerto Copenhagen performs Bach's two famous double concertos, in which the violinist Hannah Tibell and the oboist Antoine Torunczyk respectively appear as soloists together with Fredrik From.

The violin double concerto consists of three movements, all of which are fugues, as a kind of "follow the leader" game, while the double concerto for oboe and violin is more like a duel.

In 2011, Concerto Copenhagen recorded Bach's violin concertos with Fredrik From, who is also leader of the orchestra - a recording that is internationally recognised.
