Readings of radio theatre's greatest hits
We focus on what was once Denmark's largest theatre, which barely exists today: the radio theatre.
In radio theatre's heyday in the 1960s, there was up to 120,000 listeners a week. Denmark's Radio's investment in producing and having new Danish drama written has had a significant role in the development of Danish theatre. Through a series of examples with scenes from the major performances, the audience is introduced to the virtuosity of audio theatre. There will also be scenes in the form of readings by participating actors.
Participants
Anna Lawaetz
Royal Danish Library's Anna Lawaetz, research librarian and PhD, will guide us through this sound journey with the help of on-stage guests – an impressive and engrossing universe of theatre for the ears. They will also discuss how audio drama has returned to some extent. But this time outside Denmark's Radio.
The event is a collaboration between Danish Dramatists and Royal Danish Library
