Regulations for loans from Royal Danish Library's Orchestral Library
Professional orchestras or choirs, permanently established amateur orchestras or choirs and music education institutions are entitled to loans from Royal Danish Library's Orchestral Library
§1 Registration
The orchestra, choir or institution must appoint a contact person who must be physically responsible for the borrowed material vis-a-vis Royal Danish Library's Music Collection.
To be accepted as a user, you must submit a completed registration form to kb@kb.dk, att.: Royal Danish Library's Music Collection.
§2 Use of Royal Danish Library's Orchestral Library's collections
Orchestral material is ordered via the library system.
Orchestral material cannot be pre-reserved for a specific time.
The material can be collected from the Diamond Information Centre in The Black Diamond, or received by post against payment of 150 DKK.
§3 Loan period
The loan period is 100 days, including shipping time from and to Royal Danish Library, but can be extended by a further month before the end of the loan period by special agreement, if it has not been reserved by another user.
§4 Recalls and suspension
A reminder is sent before the loan due date and three recalls after the loan due date via email. A recall fee is paid for the 2nd and 3rd recall.
The user's account is blocked if there are outstanding amounts of 5,000 DKK or more.
Current rates appear in Loan periods and fees.
§5 Delivery
Delisting of the borrowed material takes place in connection with counting the votes in the Music Collection. Therefore, a final receipt cannot be issued upon delivery to Royal Danish Library's lending locations before counting has been completed, which is why a provisional receipt is issued upon delivery.
Before delisting, it is checked that all parts of the borrowed material are present when it is returned.
If one or more parts of the borrowed material are missing at the time of delisting, the responsible contact person will receive an email asking them to hand in the missing material within 10 days. If this does not happen, compensation will be required.
§6. Compensation obligation
The user is personally responsible for the loan from the time it is borrowed until it is returned to the library's lending system. The compensation case, which includes the replacement price and collection fee of 150 DKK, is placed under Fees on the user's account.
Applicable rates for compensation cases appear in Loan periods and fees.
