Access to more recent archives
Rules for accessing some archives and items in our library catalogue that contain documents younger than 75 years and that contain information of a private nature.
Large parts of the library’s archives and records can be requested for use at the Research reading room, The Black Diamond, Copenhagen. But some archives and catalogues, containing documents that are less than 75 years old and holding information of a private nature, are subject to special conditions.
In these cases, you need to apply for a permit to use the material. To get a permit you need to have a professional purpose and you will be subject to confidentiality regarding private information about living or recently deceased persons.
If you want to use these archives, you will receive an application form for access to a private archive, where you must state your purpose. You will also be asked to sign a declaration making you subject to confidentiality and special conditions for use of the archive.
Case handling may result in prolonged processing time.
