As a Green Attraction-certified visitor attraction, the Black Diamond meets a number of environmental requirements. The certification covers all our activities at the Black Diamond, including our suppliers within catering and cleaning. This includes, among other things, that the purchase of goods and services is eco-labeled and energy-reduced, increased focus on waste sorting and recycling of both internal and external resources, and conversion of transport to less energy-consuming alternatives. Green Attraction continuously follows up on the certification with checks and inspections - this is your guarantee that The Black Diamond is a green visitor attraction!
Royal Danish Library has the green agenda at heart
With the climate strategy A Greener Library 2025, Royal Danish Library is committed to working actively towards becoming a greener and more climate-friendly library with CO2-neutral operations by 2050 at the latest. The certification with Green Attraction is a significant step on the way, says Bente Skovgaard Kristensen, Chief Executive of Royal Danish Library:
The fact that the Black Diamond has now achieved the Green Attraction certificate is the result of focused work to ensure that Royal Danish Library commits itself to the green transition. The certification has required targeted efforts from employees and managers across professional areas. Specifically, the Green Attraction certification gives tourists and other visitors a signal that a visit to the Black Diamond is a sustainable choice.
Green Attraction
Green Attraction is an eco-label awarded to attractions that make an extra effort to protect the environment. Green Attraction is the consumer's guarantee that the visitor attraction meets a wide range of requirements that provide a more sustainable profile. Horesta is responsible for the certification.
Green Attraction builds on Green Key certification
The Black Diamond's meeting and conference facilities received the international tourism eco-label, Green Key, in 2022. In this context, a number of initiatives within energy efficiency, reducing water consumption and waste sorting were implemented. These initiatives are also part of the new Green Attraction certification, just as the tenant of the cafe in the Black Diamond, Madkartoteket, lives up to both Green Attraction and Green Key standards. Madkartoteket is based on plant-based cuisine, and has the Organic Food Label in silver - this means that 60-90% of all food and drinks in Madkartoteket are organic.
Royal Danish Library's green work continues. The Green Attraction certification is an important milestone for Royal Danish Library's green work, and work on the strategy continues.
