Royal Danish Library is pleased to open the library's DR-arkiv, which from day one gives all Danes the opportunity to explore up to one million radio and television programmes from 2006 to 2024. This extensive archive will be continuously expanded with more programmes.
Bente Skovgaard Kristensen, Chief Executive of Royal Danish Library, states: The opening of Royal Danish Library's DR-arkiv is an important step in opening up Danish media history and giving citizens the opportunity to relive, immerse themselves in and understand our common cultural heritage.
The archive is available to all citizens, who can search a large selection of programmes from home. The library continues its work to make more programmes available, including older programmes dating back to 1931; as well as new programmes from DR's channels, which will be added after a "hold back" period.
Royal Danish Library's DR-arkiv is a result of the media agreement 2023-2026, which was concluded by the government and a broad group of signatory parties to the agreement. A total of DKK 110 million has been allocated for the purpose.
