Royal Danish Library appoints new chief executive
The Ministry of Culture has appointed cand. jur. Bente Skovgaard Kristensen as new chief executive of Royal Danish Library.

Bente Skovgaard Kristensen has extensive experience from leading positions in state and municipality. Most recently, she held a position as director of the Children, Culture and Sports Administration in Brøndby Municipality, and before that she was head of department in the Ministry of Culture.
Bente Skovgaard Kristensen states:
"I am very grateful to have been given the job as new chief executive at Royal Danish Library. I am very much looking forward to starting on 1 February 2025 and getting to know the employees and the many business partners.
Royal Danish Library is one of the cornerstones of our cultural heritage and of our society. It is an essential prerequisite for a well-functioning library service throughout the country that all citizens have access to knowledge, and it is a decisive player in the dissemination and development of knowledge and research. It is also a large and multifaceted organisation with many areas of specialisation - an ambitious, professional and development-oriented knowledge institution with a strong focus on users and the needs of the future."
Bente Skovgaard Kristensen will take up office on 1 February 2025.
