Cultural heritage

We preserve and manage both physical and digital Danish cultural heritage - from newspapers and manuscripts to commercials and music.

Our task is to make the cultural heritage collections accessible to users and ensure that the collections are preserved in the best possible way and are used by as many groups as possible in society, now and in the future.

We collect the physical and digital Danish cultural heritage – from newspapers and manuscripts to commercials, music and the Internet.

We preserve cultural heritage for posterity in magazines and databases and make it searchable in digital collections and in reading rooms.

We convey cultural heritage at concerts, in exhibitions and literary events and in direct contact with users.

We research cultural heritage and help understand and interpret our culture, history and identity.

We work with the following core areas:

  • Preservation
  • Cultural activities
  • Legal Deposit
  • Special collections.
