Two copies of this edition with Gade's cuts and changes for the performances of Bachs "Passion according to Saint Matthew" in Musikforeningen in Copenhagen on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday 1875. One copy was meant for the Gade himself, conducting Musikforeningens Orkester (Orchestra of The Music Society) and the other one for the conductor of The Royal Orchestra. Gade's reduced the 78 numbers in this edition to 35 and adapted the recitatives for the Danish translation of the text, which has been glued into the score.
