The music for Holberg's play was written for the festive performance celebrating his 200th anniversary.

In upper right-hand corner signed by Gade. In left-hand margin: "Introduzione Marziale til Ulysses von Ithaca" also in Gade's hand. On p. 13 three deleted bars with the heading: "(Spilles naar Tæppet gaar op.)" and after the double bar: "Musiken holder op naar Frits træder frem på Scenen". Beneath: "Componeret / og instrumenteret af Gade / Denne Renskrift / af Fr. Rung."
